Our New 3 Year Professional Midwifery School combines several Full-length UofN Courses,
Internships and Travel Adventures!
The University of the Nations LifeReach Campus has designed a three year midwifery program. It is a residential program for 24 weeks out of each of the three years. During the remainder of the year students are expected to work with approved preceptor midwives, either in their home area or on assignment in another area. The location of the first and last years are in El Paso, Texas, USA. With the second year being in a location and facility with a higher birth volume. That may be in the USA or another nation. This will be announced several weeks (or months) before the second year begins to give students adequate preparation time. Student are expected to have passports and any required travel documentation before the second year session begins.
Students have a series of courses and are expected to dive deeper in their knowledge, skills and understanding with each session. Students are expected to begin with the Doula Seminar since it is an excellent introduction into midwifery and becoming part of a "Birth Team". Students that have already taken a doula workshop may submit documentation of their course, and upon acceptance, enter the midwifery school. Students who have studied midwifery can request advanced placement upon submission of their transcripts
